Position Profile
We are currently looking for a U.S. Tax Manager to join our team. This position can be based either in Montreal or Ottawa.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assistance with tax plans for corporate reorganizations, M&A transactions and estate planning in domestic and cross-border context
- Structuring of Canadian residents’ business expansions and real estate investments in the U.S.
- Research of U.S. and cross border complex tax issues, including the determination of U.S. tax filing requirements for Canadians
- Preparing and reviewing U.S. corporate, personal, partnership, estate, gift and trust tax returns
- Advising employers and employees in a global mobility context on complex expatriate tax issues to clients on a timely basis
- Participation in the oversight, coaching, supervising and training of team members
- Building on technical competence by staying up to date on tax developments in Canada and in the U.S., and applying these concepts in practical situations
- Communicating and maintaining client relations
- Playing a leadership role in the tax group by actively contributing to the development and execution of the firm’s business plan
- Presenting tax training (seminars, updates, etc.) for the team, on an as needed basis

What you need to succeed:
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in a public accounting firm, specializing in
- U.S. Tax and “cross-border” tax planning
- U.S. CPA, Canadian CPA designation or law degree preferred
- Solid experience interpreting and applying tax legislations
- Proficiency with tax research methods and databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Experience with Gosystem, CaseWare and TaxPrep is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Inquisitiveness and creativity
- Emphasis on teamwork and collaboration
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
